About Osnordic AS - Folkestarteren
Folkestarteren© is a defibrillator supplied by Osnordic AS. Osnordic AS is a Nordic supplier of first aid equipment with headquarters in Oslo.
Since the summer of 2015, we have been the first player in the market to offer reasonable deals on defibrillators to most people. Hence our concept Folkestarteren©. In addition, we have a number of representatives who work towards the corporate market, primarily small and medium-sized companies.
Osnordic AS with its concept Folkestarteren© currently has the right to distribute two different defibrillators in Nordic countries, one produced in Europe and another in Asia. Both are EU approved. Mindray defibrillators are manufactured by Mindray Medical International Limited in Shenzhen, China. We also represent Danish Cardia International and their CardiAid defibrillator.

Our story
We exist because there are not enough defibrillators available. It is perhaps not so strange when we say that many of our employees have experienced that their loved ones have suffered a cardiac arrest. One of our most committed employees lost his father at a cabin. Another was present when a friend collapsed in the room next door. This happened very close to a hospital. In both situations, it took too long for the ambulance to arrive. If there had been a defibrillator nearby and the people present were confident with their CPR skills, lives could have been saved.
In Norway, the ambulance should arrive within 12 minutes in cities and towns, and 25 minutes for the countryside. A lot of the time it doesn't happen. In the event of a cardiac arrest, it only takes a couple of minutes for the brain to be damaged. This is because it is not getting oxygen. CPR can help by supplying oxygen. A defibrillator can help it beat again. If you perform life-saving aid until the ambulance arrives, the chance of survival is much greater.
Our salespeople, course instructors and office staff are all passionate about a country with better health and more accessible health care.
Do you have a story to share? We would love to hear from you. One of our goals is to raise awareness of cardiac arrest and how important accessible defibrillators are. Send e-mail to: stine.olsen@osnordic.com
